New signs have been purchased and are ready for installation. Anticipated ground impacts include the removal of the existing signs, new post excavation, foot traffic and tool resting which can all be hand raked to remove and restore the surface surrounding the signs. Anchoring concrete to support the signs will require two new excavated holes measuring 15"" x 15"" x 36"" using hand tools. Concrete is mixed onsite using a wheelbarrow, hand tools and poured into the holes. Anchor bolts are placed into a template board to ensure their proper alignment and elevation to the sign post mounting holes. Once the concrete hardens, the template holder is removed, and the sign will be placed onto the protruding bolts and tightened down with nuts and washers. Two signs will be replaced in existing locations. Measures to be implemented to avoid impact may be obtained by submitting a request to the Environmental Coordinator listed below.",https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2022050503,Picacho Entrance Sign Replacement,Sara Lockett,"California State Parks, Ocotillo Wells District",District Environmental Coordinator,sara.lockett@parks.ca.gov,"5172 Highway 78, #10",,Borrego Springs,CA,92004,7607671084,,,Imperial,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Categorical Exemption,"1, 2 11","No potential for significant impact to the environment is anticipated in compliance with CEQA §15300.4.
