The new hole will be dug by hand or by a machine auger approximately 3 feet southeast of the current pole location. The old pole will be carried out by hand. Standard excavation depths range between 6 and 10 feet with a diameter of 2 to 3 feet. The work area, area of soil disturbance (i.e., excavation, side casting, and backfill) and staging of equipment will be limited to a truncated 10- foot buffer around the pole. The northeastern portion of the work area will be truncated to avoid impacts to an adjacent drainage.
