SMUD is proposing to expand the existing substation within the park from 0.11 acres to 0.24 acres to replace the 12.5 MVA transformer and associated substation equipment. The new transformer will be located approximately 54 feet to the east of the old one to meet modern fire protection standards. Approximately 3 to 5 feet of soil will be excavated to install the new transformer and associated substation equipment and will be back filled with compacted Class 11 Aggregate Base. The ground conditions in the substation area are made up of crushed gravel. Civil work will be done to move the substation equipment. This work includes adding an oil containment pit, with oil minder sump control and a battery slab. Additionally, some of the underground conduit will need to be relocated which houses the 12kV feeder getaways, capacitor bank cables, and off-site power cables. Lastly, new grounding will be installed throughout the new substation footprint, including grounding around the new equipment, placed 18 inches from the foundations. A new concrete driveway will be constructed from A Street, a decorative precast concrete wall will be constructed to enclose the substation, and the substation gate will be replaced. The substation will also be beautified with drought tolerant landscaping comprised of native plants. Up to 8 trees on the property will be removed. New drought tolerant trees will be replanted outside the substation footprint once construction is complete. The site of the substation is listed as parks in the City of Gait's General Plan. Construction is anticipated to start in August 2019 or soon thereafter and last for approximately 12 months",https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2019070497/2,Galt Substation Project,Amy Spitzer,Sacramento Municipal Utility District,N/A,amy.spitzer@smud.org,"6201 S Street, Mailstop H201",,Sacramento,CA,95817,9167325384,,Galt,Sacramento,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Categorical Exemption,"15302, 15303",See Attached NOE,,,,,,,,,,,,
