The project consists of renovation, upgrade, operation and maintenance activities associated with the existing state-owned Sylmar Armory. The project includes reuse of the Sylmar Armory as a year-round women's shelter (with 85 beds, 40 of which would be bunk beds for total occupancy for 125 women). The Sylmar Armory is currently used (since 196) as a 170-bed winter-month (Dec through March) mixed gender homeless shelter. During non-winter months the site is currently used as a recruitment facility by the National Guard. Interior improvements include upgrading of mechanical systems, installation of sprinklers, upgraded HVAC, new windows and retrofitting of plumbing to ADA standards. Partitions would be constructed to provide for counseling offices, sleeping areas, a warming kitchen, office space and other areas. Outdoor space on the property would be renovated to include native landscaping, lighted pathways, shade structures, storage, fencing, pet exercise areas, outdoor furniture, a river rock swale, installation of two fire hydrants and new asphalt in the existing parking area.",https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2018128447,Sylmar Armory Women's Bridge Housing Project (also referred to as Women's Shelter),Cheri Todoroff,Los Angeles County Dept of Health Services,N/A,,238 E. 6th St,,Los Angeles,CA,90014,2138335350,,Los Angeles,Los Angeles,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Categorical Exemption,"15301, 15303, 15311, 15332","Class 1 -- Existing Facilities.
