The Project's initial construction will occur over two construction seasons. Project will result in impacts to 5.37 acres of giant garter snake (Thamnophis gigas) habitat including temporary impacts to 3.54 acres and 2.52 acres of Sacramento River spring-run and winter-run Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) habitat including temporary impacts to 0.42 acres; the Project will permanently remove 1.83 acres of giant garter snake habitat and 2.1 acres of Sacramento River spring-run and winter-run Chinook salmon. The project is expected to result in incidental take of giant garter snake and Sacramento River spring-run Chinook salmon, which are designated as a threatened species and winter-run Chinook salmon, which are designated as an endangered species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of project implementation.
