The project is limited to five (5) encroachments. Two (2) encroachments are to 1) remove Pond 1, restore the channel, and reconnect flow downstream and 2) disconnect Pond 2 from the upstream channel and reconstruct embankment. Two (2) encroachments are for maintenance and use of existing, previously unpermitted ponds (Pond 3 and Pond 4), including diversion of water from a Pond 3 for domestic use (vegetable garden irrigation). One (1) encroachment is for removal of fabric pots and potting soil from a stream channel. Ponds 1, 2 and 4 are currently used for aesthetic and fire protection purposes. This project will remove Pond 1, and disconnect Pond 2 from stream flow.
