An area of approximately 17 acres of Scotch broom will be treated. When other invasive non-native plants are encountered within the project area during Scotch broom removal efforts these plants will be mapped and removed. Exotic vegetation will be removed using hand tools (e.g. shovel, weed, wrenches, Pulaski). Excavation will not exceed 24 inches. Care will be taken to minimize damage to the roots of native vegetation. Initial treatment and retreatment efforts will be performed by Park staff, volunteers, and contracted crews. All removed vegetation will be piled and burned or transported to an appropriate dumping area to be composted or burned at a later date.
