DOGGR, as the Responsible Agency, will be issuing a permit for the proposed project activity, which consists of the following: Aera Energy LLC (Aera) proposes to hydraulically fracture 16 wells (details in table below) which are expected to take 3 days, or less per well, including placement of protabletanks and all ancillary equipment to support the closed loop system, as well as the well stimulation treatments (WST). The wells are in a densely developed oilfield (South Belridge) and are scheduled to be drilled. Any ground disturbance, or expansion of facilities, associated with this project has been mitigated through the Kern County Oil and Gas Ordinance. Fluids from the WST will be collected in a closed system and will not be discharged onto the ground or into sumps. Flow-back fluids from the wells immediately after WST operations will be collected in the closed system at the well site. The collected fluid will be transported from the well sites for treatment in Aera's water treatment facility, Water Plant 20 located in the South Belridge Field, and transported via pipeline to Aera's permitted Class II disposal wells.
