The proposed project activities are needed to ensure high quality drinking water to the Grant Grove area and to improve the operation of the water system. The existing Grant Grove water system includes three water sources (artesian well, 400-ft well, and Rona Spring), a 200,000-gallon raw water pressure break tank, a limestone contactor water treatment facility, and a 1.2 million gallon finished water storage tank. There are a number of modifications needed, such as replacing and sliplining existing water lines, replacing the wellheads and associated protection structures on two wells, abandoning one well, replacing a mechanical building to eliminate confined space entry, and improving the water treatment facility to comply with CA Department of Public Health standards. A small portion of the project would occur in wetlands and near Abbott Creek. This project work would include the rehabilitation of the artesian well head, consolidation of existing electrical and waterlines, and removal of a concrete vault.",https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2012108087,Rehabilitate Critical Components of the Grant Grove Water System within Kings Canyon National Park,Nancy Hendricks,National Park Service,N/A,,Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks,47050 Generals Hwy,Three Rivers,CA,93271,5595653102,,,Fresno,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Categorical Exemption,15302,"The project involves replacement in-kind of existing critical water system components to improve water quality and meet CA Department of Public Health standards; and, would have substantially the same purpose and capacity as what currently exists.",,,,,,,,,,,,
