The project includes a combination of cutoff walls and berms (along with other flood management measures), and archeological activities. The project will result in impacts to 114.729 acres of giant garter snake habitat including temporary impacts to 113.84 acres; the project will permanently remove 0.904 acres of Giant garter snake habitat. The project is expected to result in incidental take of Giant garter snakes, which are designated as a threatened species under CESA. The ITP referenced above as issued by CDFW authorizes incidental take of species listed under CESA that may occur as a result of project implementation. An Amendment to the original incidental take permit submitted to the Department by the Permittee made changes that include: additional Covered Activities; changes to the work window to allow work from October 2nd to April 30th from the additional Covered Activities within Covered Species habitat; and modifying the authority of the Designated Biologist in Covered Species habitat.
