This change extends the ITP expiration date from July 31 , 2019 to April 25, 2023. Hospital Road bridge replacement activities include the construction of a 6-span, cast-in-place, pre-stressed, reinforced concrete box girder bridge on a new roadway alignment. The site is approximately 2,700 feet long, comprises approximately 19.71 acres, and consists of the existing Hospital Road low-water crossing over the San Benito River and adjacent areas along Hospital Road on both sides of the river. The new bridge will be 580 feet long and 37 feet wide and consist of two 12-foot wide travel lanes and two 5-foot wide shoulder/bike-lanes. The Hospital Road Bridge Replacement Project will result in impacts to 7.96 acres of California tiger salamander (Ambystoma Californiense) habitat including temporary impacts to 7.12 acres and will permanently remove 0.84 acres of California tiger salamander habitat. These activities are expected to result in incidental take of California tiger salamander, which is designated as a threatened species under the California Endangered Species Act.
