As an option to the original project's renovation of Building E into 12 classrooms and support space, Building E would be replaced with a 12-classroom building consisting of prefabricated modular classrooms and restrooms and conventional construction for the rest and would be a maximum of 25.5 feet high at the parapet. The New Building E would have a total of 10,392 sf of classroom space, with each classroom being 866 sf. Additionally, the New Building E would have two girls and two boys' restroom, totaling 810 sf, a 166-sft electrical room, a 211-sf elevator and machine room, 128-sf intermediate distribution frame (IDF) room, 61-sf custodian's closet, 304 sf of storage space, and 4,040 sf of covered canopy and exterior circulation. A stair well would be located on both ends of the New Building E, while an ADA compliant elevator would be located along the southeastern end of the New Building E. Mechanical heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment would be located along the southeastern end of the New Building E. The Revised Project includes limited improvements to the walkways and stairs from the existing Lower Parking Lot, landscaping around the New Building E, and limited utility improvements. Exterior lighting is minimized to on the courtyard and ramp sides that feature fixtures for the building that are within the ceilings and canopies and all exterior lighting utilizing 3000 Kelvin temperature LED fixtures.
