The existing halfpipe will be relocated approximately 20 feet to the southeast to be more underneath the Vista Express lift and uphill converging ski trails. Approximately 130 trees will be removed on the east of the existing halfpipe. The new halfpipe radius will be increased by four feet from the existing 18 feet to 22 feet. Approximately 93,456 square feet of new disturbance will occur, of which most will be located on an existing ski trail. Cuts and fills will be approximately 30,500 cubic yards, resulting in a balanced cut and fill area. Dirt maintenance roads will be used for construction access. The purpose of the new halfpipe is to provide increased terrain between merging skier and snowboard traffic as well as to meet the demands of modern snowboard equipment and the advancements being made in snowboard technique.
