In this area, the Cape ivy growing on and around ferns (within a two foot radius) will be removed by hand. Cape ivy outside of a two foot radius of the ferns will be sprayed with Rodeo herbicide (with R-11 surfactant) using a hand sprayer. A second herbicide treatment will be applied 2-3 months after the initial treatment. The hand removal of Cape ivy and installation of erosion control will be completed by hired restoration crews. The herbicide treatment will be applied by a licensed herbicide applicator. USDA NRCS Practice requirements (643, 342) will be followed in the implementation of this restoration project.
