The City is proposing to repair the channel by stepping the bank and adding a soil/rock mixture to the slope to rebuild it to its original dimensions and cross section. The proposed repairs would consist of no impact to the channel itself and will be completed within a three-month timeframe. The majority of the work will be done from the adjacent roadway above the channel bank and will occur during the regulatory agencies approved timeframe. The purpose of the proposed project is to restore the eastern channel bank to its original grade and elevations. The newly constructed and engineered bank would convey the flood flows, resulting in as appropriate vegetated bank capable of resisting further erosion. The stabilization of the creek bank would enable the reconstruction of the sidewalk, roadway and utilities that are within the City's transportation right-of-way. The project would also eliminate risks to pedestrian and vehicular traffic from potentially falling into the creek.",https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2006058158,Abel Street Infrastructure Improvements Project/Channel Repair,Tom Yousch,City of Milpitas,N/A,,455 E.
