In 2001, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Sacramento (Agency) authorized the Downtown Development Group to solicit bids for the stabilization of the Ebner's Hotel located in Old Sacramento. The goals for the stabilization project included: 1. The removal of the building from the City's Dangerous Building list. 2. The preservation and eventual reuse of the Ebner's Hotel building. 3. The safe repair of all the erosion under the alley and sidewalk. 4. Restoring the area around the Ebner's Hotel to full use for the business owners and patrons as quickly as possible. The total project cost at that time was estimated to be $1.3 million. The project was awarded and work on-site started in the spring of 2002. During construction, as sections of the building were being uncovered, the contractor identified additional damage that could not have been foreseen prior to commencement of construction. The contractor ceased progress on the project due to safety concerns, and staff and project consultants have been evaluating potential options and costs. The unforeseen conditions changed the scope and cost of the project so significantly that work could not proceed under the original scope of the project.",https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2002092081,Ebner's Hotel Restoration or Reconstruction Project,Wendy Saunders,Redevelopment Agency of the City of Sacramento,N/A,,Downtown Development Group,"1030 15th Street, Suite 250",Sacramento,CA,95814,9164401330,,,Sacramento,,2nd and K Streets,,.2,006-0072-028-000,"I-80, I-5, Highway 50",Sacramento and American Rivers,Sacramento,No,9/24/2002,10/23/2002,Other,,"Aesthetics, Air Quality, Cultural Resources, Geology/Soils, Hazards & Hazardous Materials, Land Use/Planning, Noise, Public Services, Solid Waste, Transportation",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
