The applicant proposes to replace and widen the current bridges with a concrete girder bridge with 12 lanes, standard shoulders and medians, a bike path on the northbound side, 14 piers and two abutements. Dimensions of the new structure are 1,660 feet by 209 feet, a widening of approximately 64 feet. Construction will begin April, 2002 and end April 1, 2005.
