Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 4; California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Section 15304, Minor alteration in the condition of land and water.
Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of minor grading of an access road to a gravel bar and the temporary placement of CDFW Fish Screen Criteria compliant diversion intake. The project proponent has agreed to implement a diversion schedule that excludes diversion when streamflow in the Mattole River as measured at the Ettersburg gage is less than 7 Cubic Feet per Second. There would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, threatened, or rare species or their habitat pursuant to §15065. The project will not result in impacts that are significant when viewed in connection with the effects of past projects, the effects of other current projects, and the effects of probable future projects.
