The purpose of the project is to improve trail connectivity and non-motorized mobility by paving and filling gaps in the local and regional trail system for use by pedestrians and bicyclists from surrounding communities. The project would improve approximately 2.2 miles miles of the existing gravel path along the former Clarksburg Branch Line Trail from which rails have been removed. A 600’ segment along South River Road with a grade separated structure over South River Road also is included. Both sections of trail would connect to the newly developed Southport Levee Recreation Trail and increase usability and connectivity.
