Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District's (EMWD) Menlo Lift Station, constructed in 1989, is nearing the end of useful life due to corrosion. It now requires replacement of wet well piping and valve assembly. The project includes replacement of the discharge pipes with stainless steel materials, installation of new valve assemblies, and installation of new corrosion resistant guiderails. Additionally, an on-site wet well bypass pumping system is included to provide sewer service during construction. Beneficiaries of the project are EMWD's ratepayers.

Notice of Exemption
Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Art. 19, Sec. 15301(a)
Reasons for Exemption
Implementation of the proposed project would result in the repair and maintenance of an existing public structure used to provide sewerage with no expansion of the lift station design capacity. The project will replace piping and valve assembly impacted by corrosion and use a wet well bypass pumping system to continue to provide sewage service during construction without increasing the capacity of the current lift station.
