Document Description
The project is a two-lane rural conventional highway providing the only link to several small coastal communities, which provides access to several parks and scenic areas, as well as serving as a attraction in itself. The purpose is to rehabilitate, preserve, and extend the serviceability of the existing pavement and to improve ride quality. Failure to perform the work could result in loss of use of the roadway resulting in interruption of traffic in this corridor. In this area, disruption of traffic would result in long detours which would affect access to these areas for emergency service providers. In addition, the long detours would result in the loss of tourism and other economic costs to local inhabitants and businesses.
