Document Description
DWR Staff staff will break down, fill, and repair areas of erosion along the primary and secondary sides of the South Bay Aqueduct. Erosions will each be broken down with a backhoe and compacted by roller. Approximately 30 yards of native soil fill material and 50 yards of ¾” road base will be used for backfill. Areas will be compacted around road drains. MM 10.60 will be broken down, backfilled, and compacted to grade with 100 tons of fill dirt used for erosion fill. A culvert may be installed to direct water to drain properly. Soil is stored at the Dyer or Patterson Yards. All equipment and work are within the DWR ROW.

The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any environmental impacts.
