To authorize existing landside and waterside access ramps perpendicular to the west levee of the Sacramento River in Maintenance Area 1 Unit 1 at Levee Mile 13.45 (Historic 13.74), a 36-inch corrugated metal pipe through the levee, slide gate on a concrete box on waterward end, pump on the bank at Levee Mile 13.47 (Historic 13.76). Ramps and pipe previously authorized under Permit No. 9461 Automatic Board Order (ABO) and noted in USACE Operations and Maintenance Manual Unit 137 Page 5 (station 710+82) and USACE As-Builts Dwg No. 50-04-2167 Sheet No. 2.

Board staff has determined that the project is exempt from CEQA under the Class 1, Existing Facilities categorical exemption (CEQA Guidelines § 15301), because the activity consists of permitting existing access ramps and pipe. No expansion of existing or former use will occur. Further, none of the exceptions to the exemption in CEQA Guidelines § 15300.2 apply.
