The project is categorically exempt under Class 1, Existing Facilities, having met the qualifying criteria provided under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301(a), which apply to the minor alteration of existing facilities involving negligible or no expansion of an existing or former use. The project does not trigger any of the exceptions to the use of categorical exemptions as set forth in Section 15300.2 of the State CEQA Guidelines, as the project site is within the already developed campus and not in an environmentally sensitive area, which in any event are qualifying considerations only for Class 3, 4, 5, 6, and 11 categorical exemptions and not Class 1; would not result in cumulative impacts; has no possibility of resulting in significant environmental impacts due to unusual circumstances; would not damage scenic resources within a scenic highway corridor; is not proposed on a listed hazardous waste site; and would not result in a substantial adverse change in the significance of an historical resource.
