Document Description
Repair and improve the existing Sierra Gold Sector shooting range and surrounding area at Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park to provide a safe training location for law enforcement personnel and improve wildfire precautions. Work will: • Use a backhoe to expand the existing active shooting area from approx. 80’ long by 30’ wide to approx. 80’ long by 50’ wide; • Level, grade, and cover the new expanded area with approx. 37 cubic yards of Class 2 road base; • Blend and level the new road base to meet the elevation of the existing shooting range area in preparation for asphalt application; • Install an approx. 80’ x 50’ x 4” thick asphalt pad over the expanded shooting area; • Use hand tools to prepare the 20’ long by 1’ wide range backstop area; and • Install two (2) pressure treated 2” x 10” x 20’s along the lower side of the backstop.
