Document Description
The Helix 9 flow control facility (FCF) project includes demolition of Helix 1 FCF and construction of a new, at grade FCF. The project will increase the flow control pipe train size to 30 inches to bring water velocities within Water Authority standards and install new electrical and instrumentation equipment. The new building will include roll up door access, ventilation, and roof hatches. The project will also replace the pipeline vault directly upstream of the FCF. All project activities will occur within the existing developed area.

The new structure will be located on the same site and have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the former structure. Maintenance and replacement of existing facilities is specifically categorically exempted from CEQA per the Water Authority's Administrative Code implementing CEQA [§8.00.060(a)1(i) and §8.00.060(a)2(i)].
