Document Description
The project is located in Madera County, on State Route 99 between Avenue 7 and Avenue 12 at post miles 1.5 to 7.4. This section of the highway began to show rapid deterioration. The unstable pavement has created loose debris and large potholes. Although State Forces have patched the potholes, the pavement has deteriorated faster than repairs can be made. If the repairs are not complete, there is a threat of roadway closures due to lack of drivability. The project will remove and replace failed pavement in the number two lane in both the north and south directions, pavement delineation, and traffic control. The project will remove 0.2’ of RHMA and replace it with 0.2’ of RHMA Type G. No right of way acquisition is needed. It is estimated that construction would take 10 working days to complete.
