Document Description
This project is intended to improve infiltration and clean discharge of stormwater at existing parking lots within Crystal Cove State Park through installation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) systems, including permeable paving. The planned actions will bring them up to water quality compliance with the State Water Board that includes the Irvine Coast Area of Biological Significance (ASBS). Also included in this construction drawing set is the replacement of an existing vehicle/pedestrian bridge (Pelican Point Bridge) on the Treasure Cove trail just north of the Pelican Point parking lot #1.

Class 1, Section 15301: Existing Facilities. The project is considered maintenance and improvement to existing infrastructure. No potential for significant impacts to the environment is anticipated in compliance with Section 15300.4. To avoid, minimize, or mitigate potential impacts of the project to below a significant level, the Department (and its contractors) shall following all avoidance and minimization measures outlined in the Project Evaluation Form. If the project is implemented as indicated within the project description, then it is exempt under CEQA §15301 – Existing Facilities. The action falls under the Departmental List of Exempt activities according to CEQA §15300.4 as outlined in the Department of Operations Manual, Chapter 0600
