Document Description
Install eight (8) new metal gates at various entrances within Lake Oroville State Recreation Area to protect park resources, equipment, staff and public during disasters or other circumstances limit staffing presence. The entrance gate install locations are: • Loafer Creek Campground Entrance Road. • Coyote Campground Entrance • Loafer Creek Boat Launch • Loafer Creek Day Use • Loafer Creek Stage II Boat Ramp Access Road • Bidwell Canyon Campground Entrance Road • Gold Flat Campground • Lime Saddle Day Use Entrance Road Work will consist of: • Installing eight (8) 30' to 36'x 3’ x 4” metal barrier gates painted white with red reflective tape; • Excavate sixteen (16) holes 4’x 16” to set metal post to secure gate and fill with concrete; • Excavate sixteen (16) holes 24"x16” to secure gate it open position and fill with concrete; • Trim vegetation to allow clearance of gates. All gates will be manually operated with a center locking mechanism.

Project consists of the maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond current levels; construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures, included as “fencing and gates” in the Department of Parks and Recreation List of exempt activities, in accordance with CCR§153400.4; and the minor public or private alterations in the condition of land and/or vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
