Document Description
The purpose of the project is to prevent quagga and zebra mussel infestations in Lake Cuyamaca. Project components include:
• Replacement of an existing shed containing a washdown unit room with a storage shed being installed solely for the storage of a mobile decontamination unit (16' X 20' footprint);
• Construction of a boat tagging station ( 4' X 4' footprint);
• Replacement of four existing chain or wood barriers with metal locking steel gates along four shoreline access points; and
• Construction of two new locking steel gates at the site's main entrance.
All project work will occur within developed or disturbed areas. The gates will better control access to the launch ramp and shoreline to make sure any watercraft are inspected prior to launch and decontaminated if necessary.
