Document Description
This project will include: 1) Construction of two metal shade parking structures at staff dormitories, two striped ADA parking stalls, and a windbreak wall for one parking area. Each shade structure will have side and front wind protection walls, they will not touch the ground. Each shade structure will measure 72 feet by 18 feet and approximately 10 feet tall.
2) A Quonset-style steel building/hut will be added on an existing pad adjacent to an existing Quonset building to protect heavy equipment from scouring winds and UV degradation. The building is 60 feet wide by 100 feet long. The existing elevated pad will be re-excavated and compacted due to minor surface erosion. Heavy equipment, including a dozer, backhoe, skip loader, grader, and water truck will be used.
3) ATV Safety Institute training track expansion and split-rail fence realignment to accommodate recreational off-highway vehicle training. The existing track is 39,826 square feet, it will be expanded to the north and west resulting in a total track area of 52,097 square feet. The expansion will require removing approximately 5,403 square feet of native vegetation. An Environmental Scientist will ensure that staff provides proper care during vegetation transplanting to retain as many plant species as possible. No pavement or other hardscaping will be added. Equipment used will be hand tools for ground personnel and a loader or dozer to relocate the berm. A grader will provide the final leveling for the training track area.
