Document Description
Caltrans District 9 is proposing to (1) install new horizontal signs, (2) remove and replace existing sign posts and panels and (3) install chevrons and change in alignment arrow signs along State Route 178. Approximately 92 new signs will be installed. Caltrans has changed the way the Department determines comfortable speeds on horizontal curves. To comply with the new requirements, Caltrans must post new speeds for most of the curves. In addition to that the department has new guidelines for the installation of chevrons and change in alignment arrows. To comply with that we must install chevrons and arrows on any curve posted 15 MPH or more under the posted speed limit.
