Document Description
As a CMAQ project (Congestion Mitigation & Air Quality Program), the City of Fresno Public Works Department is proposing to install public safety and pedestrian access improvements at the intersection of Divisadero and Mariposa Streets with new traffic signals; improved intersection lighting; striped crosswalks for school/pedestrian crossing; ADA compliant ramps with pedestrian paths of travel; raised median islands along Divisadero Street east and west of Mariposa Street; and removal of the westerly Divisadero Street pedestrian indication light/crosswalk at the southbound SR-41 /Divisadero Street off-ramp.

Section 15301/Class 1(c, f) Existing Facilities: consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public facilities, such as highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters and similar facilities, and the addition of safety or health protection devices in conjunction with existing structures and facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing. The project consists of intersection improvements in the existing right-of-way for improved public safety and access. 15305/Class 5 (b) Minor Alterations in Land Use Limitations: in areas with an average slope of less than 20% which do not result in any changes in land use or density. The project may require the issuance of a minor encroachment permit and any necessary easements needed for the ADA compliant ramp improvements and pedestrian path of travel.
