Document Description
This project will enclose a naturally occurring mud pot artesian spring and its corresponding resource features from continued OHV encroachment into the target wetland area, while providing habitat restoration, erosion protection, interpretive opportunity; and ecosystem health improvement over time. The enclosure will consist of a peeler-core barrier with two interpretation panels outside of the fence to educate the public on the area and need for protection. The barrier will be approximately 1,500 feet in perimeter. Post holes will be approximately eight feet apart, and should be no larger than three feet across and three feet deep. Excavated fill, placed beside the individual hole, is subject to inspection at the discretion of the District Archaeologist prior to back filling the holes.
