Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2018-0085-R1, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Bee Hang. The project is limited to the repair, maintenance, and monitoring of the debris slide associated with cannabis cultivation site development. On March 27, 2017, CDFW staff observed a debris flow originating at the cannabis cultivation site and flowing downhill into Democrat Gulch. Notification materials indicate that between May 2017 and April 2018 Permittee sought assistance from Natural Resources Management Corp (NRM) to repair and monitor the slope failure. Subsequent monitoring by NRM indicates that treatment of the failure has been successful. As part of remediation of the site the Permittee shall continue to remove existing and future sediment deposits at the base of the debris flow within the riparian area of Democrat Gulch, monitor and maintain erosion and water control structures used in remediation of the debris flow site, and submit annual monitoring reports to CDFW. The Permittee will continue to operate a licensed cannabis cultivation project on the site. There are no streams within 200 feet of the cultivation site, which is fed by a groundwater well.
