The proposed project would install a canopy-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) system at a Stockton USD elementary school to supplement the District's energy needs, and to generate savings in energy costs.
The solar facility, the construction and installation of a canopy structure mounted PV solar system at an existing school site to provide electricity to the District. The solar arrays mounted to canopy structures, inverters, AC combiner, and utility line and trenching, are minor structures appurtenant to the existing institutional uses (school buildings). The project will not increase the capacity of the school sites by 25% or 10 classrooms. There are no sensitive resources in the project area and the battery storage facility will serve the existing facilities. Therefore, they are classified as exempt from the provisions of CEQA under Sections 15301-15303, 15311, and 15314. None of the exceptions to these Categorical Exemptions apply.
