The proposed project involves the expansion of the mine and associated volume of material expected to be mined, which requires updating the existing mine Reclamation Plan and issuance of a CUP for the mining operation. The county of Imperial owns and operates the Holtville Material Borrow Site (CA Mine ID #91 13 0086). The Imperial County Public Works Dept began mining operations at the Holtville Material Borrow Site in March 1994. The current Reclamation Plan (RP 174 95) sets the max duration of mining at 40 years, with a termination date of March 2034. To date, approx 117,065 cy of material have been mined. The amendment to the Reclamation Plan expands the area of mining from 18.6 acres to a total of 30.3 acres and an ultimate potential yield of approx 408,625 cy.
