The Auburn Area Recreation and Park District (ARD) manages Overlook Park, Railhead Park, the Canyon View Community Center and surrounding lands as part of Management Agreement between ARD and the US Dept. of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation (Contract No. 00-LC-20-7281, February 3, 2000). The Management Agreement requires that an Operational and Development Plan be created to provide a conceptual level planning report for potential future facilities and improvements to the properties and the structures mentioned above and to identify routine maintenance of existing facilities. The Operation and Development Plan does not commit ARD to implementing the conceptual projects described in the Plan serves to standardize and document those existing practices to provide a shared understanding and agreement between the Bureau of Reclamation and ARD. Project would benefit the public within the District's boundaries.
