Document Description
The United States Bureau of Reclamation will direct DWR to excavate and install earthquake detection equipment in the O'Neill Forebay Dam area, these sites are labaled Crest, Toe, Free Field. To install the equipment, areas about 5 feet by 4 feet by 2.3 feet will be excavated at the three sites and motion vaults will be placed in the excavated areas. The Crest and Toe will require 20-foot abutment on the left and right sides. A 3.5-foot deep hole will be drilled at the three sites and a 9-foot tall, 4-inch diameter steel cap pole will be placed in the holes. A 2.5-foot deep hole will be drilled at the Crest and Toe areas and a 6-foot tall, 6-inch diameter domed bollard will be placed in each hole. The cap pole and bollard will be painted. San Luis Canal water users will benefit.
