Document Description
Grant a permanent Easement to AT&T and Install San Simeon Fiber Optic Cable Line through the Hearst San Simeon State Park campground, in order to provide a high speed internet connection to the Hearst Castle visitor center. The proposed work will install a new cable along the existing telephone route from hwy 1, through the Washburn day-use parking lot, across the San Simeon Creek bridge up to a utility pole at the RV dump station. State parks staff will be responsible for the clearing of brush, flagging the proposed alignment and will be responsible for monitoring all work completed by AT&T employees and/or contractors. All work will comply with all state and federal environmental laws, including but not limited to CEQA, NEPA, Section 5024 of PRC, ESA, and fish and game code, as well as federal ESA and F&W code. No take of state or federal listed species is permitted.

This project consists of the maintenance, permitting, or minor alteration of existing public facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead determination and minor alterations in land use limitations in areas with an average slope of less than 20% that does not result in any changes in land use or density and is included as issuance of rights of way and issuance of permits in Parks and Rec's list of exempt activities.
