Students Restoring Coastal Wetlands
NOE - Notice of Exemption
Project will develop an outdoor environmental education program for local students. Students will be able to connect classroom lessons about wetlands and watersheds, while actively participating in wetland restoration activities such as identifying and removing invasive species, and propagating and planting native species.
The project location is at San Elijo Lagoon, which is located between the city of Encinitas and Solano Beach. The project site will cover 1.4 acres across coastal salt marsh and coastal sage scrub habitat.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt under section 15304 as activities of invasive species removal and planting native species that does not remove healthy, mature and scenic trees. The project is also categorically exempt under section 15333 because it involves removal of invasive species and revegetation of disturbed areas that do not exceed 5 acres in size.
