Document Description
Remove the existing metal guardrail on the west side of Mt. Shasta Boulevard between Springhill Drive and Ski Village Drive in Mt. Shasta. Construct new metal beam guardrail on the west side of Mt. Shasta Boulevard between Springhill Drive and Ski Village Drive. Restripe Mt. Shasta Boulevard as necessary to provide an adequate shoulder. The existing 18" wide and 22" high rock wall will remain. The proposed 19" wide metal beam guardrail will be place 18" from the existing rock wall, the supporting posts will be drilled and placed 42" below grade and extend 30" high above the asphalt surface. There will be no disturbance of the existing rock wall with the proposed guardrail project.

Reasons for Exemption
This is exempt because it is a repair and replacement of existing metal beam guardrail facilities and construction of new guardrail in an existing public right of way. The project also will preserve the existing rock wall and remain outside the area of disturbance, by maintain an 18" clearance, from the rock wall along the portion of new guardrail construction.
