Document Description
An existing 4 foot by 5 foot storm drain tunnel collects all of the surface runoff of FSP and delivers it to the American River next to guard tower #6. The project will construct a system that will prevent tainted storm water runoff and any sewage spills from entering the American River from this storm drain. The project will construct a concrete wall and motorized sliding gate at the egress of the storm drain. In the event of a spill or other event contaminating storm water runoff, the gate will close to contain the water inside the existing storm drain tunnel. A pump, which will be installed as part of the project, will pump the tainted water into the prison's wastewater system.
