Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is issuing a permit to The Center for Lands Management pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 2081(a) for a project to collect of leaf material and seeds, conduct genetic analysis, and conduct an inbreeding study on the San Fernando Valley spinefellow (Chorizanthe parryl var. fernandina), a California endangered species. Leaf material will be collected from no more than 140 individual plants on the Newhall Land and Farming Company property for genetic analysis. Approximately 100 seeds will be collected from the property and transported to the National Forest Genetics Lab in Placerville, California where they will be grown under greenhouse conditions to a flowering state beginning in fall/winter 2014.
