Sudden Oak Death Fuels Management
NOE - Notice of Exemption
Remove CA Bay seedlings and saplings, other seedlings that are creating dense ladder fuels, and recently dead fanoak snags in Jack London State Historic Park to manage Sudden Oak Death. All work to be done with hand tools including loppers, weed wrenches, chainsaws, and pole pruners. Identified woody debris piles in the forest will be reduced by either cutting and dispersing or removing. All fuel debris will be either cut/lopped and scattered on-site or hauled to a pre-designated location within the park for chipping or burning.
Minor public alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation which do not involve the removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees except for forestry purposes; included as "natural resource management" in the Dept. of Parks and Recreation's list of exempt activities in accordance with CCR §15300.4.
