Document Description
The project consists of the adoption and long-term implementation of the Adelanto North 2035 Comprehensive Sustainable Plan and General Plan Amendment and Zoning Change required to implement the Plan. The Plan establishes long-term strategies guiding the community's sustainable development. This planning effort is prepared under, and funded by, the State of CA Sustainable Communities Planning Grant and Incentive Programs. The Plan provides a focused framework to address State planning priorities, foster sustainable and green development, and provide for a balanced land use plan addressing housing and employment opportunities. The Plan provides land use strategies encouraging place-making and promoting a positive and healthy community image. In addition, the Plan identifies Growth Priority Areas to guide growth in conjunction with current and planned utility extensions. Ultimately, the Plan provides for a fiscally responsible future pattern of development. The Plan consists of seven chapters which include sustainable design approaches: Land use and Community Design, Economic Development, Mobility, Parks and Recreation, Open Space and Recreation, Public Facilities and Infrastructure, and Public Health and Safety.
