Vegetation consists of a mixed confier stand over widely scattered brush. The project area had the majority of the understory removed in 2011 under a Fuels Reduction Emergency. The project area is approximately 115 acres in size. The proposed project will consist of a prescribed burn to provide live fire training. The prescibed burn is also intended to maintain the fuel break by removing the forest litter which has accumulated since the 2011 project. Perimeter fire control lines will consist of existing roads, existing roads, existing dozer line, and new dozer line. Interior lines will be constructed by hand crews using scraping tools.
