Document Description
Lassen National Forest proposes to restore the hydrology and meadow vegetation at Papoose Meadow by filling three primary artifical drainage ditches that were historically dug for grazing purposes and that currently cause the northern end of the meadows to dry out. Using clean dredged material from dredging at the Gallatin Marina in Eagle Lake, the Forest Service will fill 2,100 linear feet of ditches with 500 cubic yards of material, compact the material, and use vegetative plugs from the surrounding meadow to re-vegetate the site.
