Document Description
The project would replace the prison's existing central kitchen and two adjoining dining halls with a new kitchen and two new dining halls. The project is needed because because the central kitchen is badly deteriorated due to water damage associated with daily kitchen-cleaning practices. The high use, outdated equipment, and the aging structure have resulted in maintenance and repair costs to the State the continue to escalate each year. The project would improve work area efficiency and utilize durable materials resistant to deterioration due to water. In addition, the new kitchen layout would reduce blind sports, thereby increasing safety for both staff and inmates.
