Document Description
This project includes installation of a storm drain system that will collect storm water and convey it to Stream 532 which connects to Corralitos Creek on the northeast side of Freedom Boulevard, Santa Cruz County. The collected runoff from the area will be conveyed to Freedom Boulevard, and then to Corralitos Creek in a 30-inch storm drain. The storm drain will continue about 150 feet and then angle northerly to intercept the existing drainage channel which drains into Corralitos Creek. A concrete headwall along with gabion baskets are proposed to be constructed at this location. Two, three-feet by six-feet gabion baskets filled with gabion rock will be installed in the swale flowline over filter fabric. The outlet of the new 30-inch pipe will be approximately two feet above the existing drainage channel flow line. Catch basins will be constructed throughout the drainage path, at changes in storm drain grade and angle points to provide access for maintenance. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement, Number 1600-2011-0103-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, to the project Applicant, Bowker Drainage, LLC.
